The Ronald E. Dimock Award

The Ronald E. Dimock Award will be awarded to a school team or individual mooter who furthers the objectives of the Harold G. Fox Moot by combining persuasive IP advocacy with collegiality, positivity, and respect throughout the competition and its associated events. The recipient will be determined at the discretion of the Chair(s) of the Fox Moot, with consideration given to recommendations made by mooters, coaches, or panelists.

Mr. Dimock was instrumental in starting the Harold G Fox IP Moot in 2009. He practiced in the Intellectual Property Litigation Bar for almost 50 years and retired in 2024. As Chair of the Court Practice Committee of the IP Section of the CBA in 1990, he initiated the first Judges’ Dinner and as Chair of the IP Certification Committee of the Law Society of Ontario, he started the Certification of IP lawyers in 1992 and initiated the first IP Year in Review in 1994. He also edits the textbook “IP Disputes”.
